OKOCHA'S HOPE OF GRABBING SUPER EAGLES JOB HITS BRICK WALL.

– Okocha isn’t considered as the next coach of Super Eagles, according to a source from NFF secretariat
 – The source says a foreign coach may be appointed to coach the Super Eagles.
Veteran Nigerian player Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha may have just had his hopes of becoming a coach with the Super Eagles dashed, if the report on Vanguard is anything to go by. According to the report, there are indications that the yet-to-be-signed new foreign coach would love to have Okocha as his assistant, but the NFF would have none of it. According to a source from the NFF secretariat, the crew of Emmanuel Amuneke and Salisu Yusuf would continue with the new coach whenever he arrives. He said: “Okocha has shown a lot of interest in the job and has openly said he would be happy to serve his country in any other capacity after an illustrious career as a player. But he can’t get it.” Okocha scored 14 goals in 75 matches for Nigeria.

WIKE PLAYS POLITICTS WITH DEVELOPMENT OF RIVERS PEOPLE

– The minister of transport has stated that Governor Nyesom Wike is playing politics with the development and lives of the people in the state
 – Wike claims that the political killings and murder of APC members in the state are cult related
 – Amaechi challenged Wike to name the cult groups at war.
The minister of transport and former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi has stated that the current governor, Nyesom Wike is playing politics with the development and lives of the people in the state, P.M news reports. Amaechi in a statement issued by his media office, stated that: “We watched with disgust and disbelief the recent television interview of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, excerpts of which had also been used in some newspapers. It was the typical Wike, twisting, butchering and turning the truth upside down; and in most cases telling outright deceptive lies in his failed bid to denigrate, tarnish and rubbish the towering image, person and laudable, landmark achievements of his predecessor and now Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. “Most troubling, was Wike’s propensity, without any qualms whatsoever, to play politics with the safety and security of the lives of Rivers people. This is indeed most worrisome. It is no secret that Wike plays politics with development, the welfare and well-being of Rivers people. But no government should play politics with the safety and security of its citizens like Wike is sadly and shamelessly doing.” Wike claimed that the political killings and murder All Progressives Congress (APC) members and other hapless citizens in the State are cult related or a result of cult clashes. The minister then challenged Wike to name the cult groups at war. Wike was a guest on Channels Television morning programme Sunrise Daily on Monday, March 28, where he answered questions on the death of a corps member during the rerun election, the political crisis and killings in Rivers state, and other issues. According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state had achieved a lot within his short period in office and it would be very difficult for any political party to win the PDP in the state.
